We had our first rehearsal last night with our friend Josiah (of the band Tokyo) for the Valpo show coming up Saturday. He learned all of the songs for the set in three 12 hour days and came ready to play.
I know many of you have expressed that listening to our music is somewhat therapeutic. For me, playing it is very therapeutic and we played for a long, long time.
Here are some shots from the Virginia/North Carolina skyline where we rehearsed. Reminds me a lot of the Destination: Beautiful days.
I think a few of us are going to Scotty Quick's tonight to see Tokyo play if you want to join us.

Tonight I had the privilege of attending a Bob Dylan show with Elvis Costello as the support act. Yesterday my father had gotten a call from Elvis Costello's tour manager asking him to fix one of Mr. Costello's acoustic guitars. (that is what my dad does for a living is fix and build guitars).
So today he delivered the mended guitar and got taken by the crew out for a grateful beverage. Zach and I were at guitar center when he called to invite us to join. That was a sad offer indeed to have to refuse. My dad is the man...gotta brag on my boy :)
After the show we went to a pizza bar called Cogans which, coincidentally was the location of our first show as Mae. Zach, Benji and I met up with Dave and our friends Sean Presley and Dave Pogge. They had just come from seeing Queens of the Stone Age at the Norva. We headed back to our place for an evening of playing guitar and conversations about art, spirituality and the importance of friendship and community. I want to be in a band known for their capacious curiosity. Tonight we celebrated the future.

I have some sad news...
